DEFENCE LIASION & SECURITY OFFICER

Daniel Joinbee is a proud descendent of the Gunggandji tribe (Yarrabah, QLD).

Daniel is an experienced Air Force officer who has the ability to think clearly and execute under pressure. He understands, and is competent in, the management of complex risk in dynamic environments, and has exceptional attention to detail. Daniel is an accomplished leader with the ability to empower individuals and positively influence and motivate teams.

Daniel is dedicated to serving his community, with his efforts recognised by being a recipient of the 2019 Australia Day Medallion for his outstanding contribution to forming relationships that continue to enhance the Australian Defence Force’s reputation within the Indigenous and local community; forging strong, dependable, and resilient community ties resulting in productive, and harmonious relationships.

After a distinguished 12-year career in the Air Force, Daniel transitioned to civilian life where his strong entrepreneurial skills have resulted in the establishment of several successful businesses. In addition, he has developed extensive project management skills working within the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and a Project Management (EL1) and at Manteena Security; where he was responsible for delivering major projects for the Australian Defence Force, DITRDC and federal government clients. Daniel has routinely led and managed projects in complex and dynamic environments, with project budgets exceeding $45M.

Daniel brings this wealth of experience to iDiC as the Defence Liaison and Security Officer.

Daniel is a proud husband to his wife Elspeth and dad to Edward and Emily.
