BRETT GOODES

MANAGER SA/NT

Returning to his roots, Brett has relocated to Adelaide having been away from his traditional lands for many years. A proud Narungga & Adnyamathanha man born in Wallaroo South Australia, he is very excited to be working with and building the capabilities of our Indigenous Consortium Partners as our new State Manager.

With over 10 years’ experience working in community, mentoring and Indigenous programs, from strategic planning and application to grassroots level engagement. A real people person, he brings a real genuine relationship building approach to our team.

Initially studying Conversation & Land Management, he worked in Forest & Fire Management as a public servant in Victoria. During his time as a professional athlete he then went on to study (part-time) an Applied Management degree which he is in his final year and close to completing.

During this time Brett managed to have a very successful football career playing much of it at State League levels, with stints in the SANFL with Port Magpies (2003) and NT Thunder (2010) in the NEAFL; but most of his success coming in the VFL which ultimately saw him being drafted at the age of 28 in 2013 to the Western Bulldogs. He went on to play 22 AFL games over 3 seasons.

Brett enjoys learning more about his culture, golf, fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with family and friends.
